Granny Flower Crochet Pattern

Abbreviations - US Terms:
• ch: Chain
• dc: Double Crochet
• hdc: Half Double Crochet
• mc: Magic Circle
• ss: Slip Stitch
• 3ch picot: Chain 3, slip stitch into 1st chain
Squares:
Round 1:
• Color 1
• Start with a mc, ch 1.
• (3 dc, ch 3) x4 into the ring.
• ss into the first dc.
• Cut yarn, sew in the end now or after.
Round 2:
• Color 2
• Attach yarn in any ch 3 space, secure with a ch 1, then ch 1 again.
• 12 dc in the same ch 3 space.
• (12 dc in the next ch 3 space) x3.
• ss into the first dc.
• Cut yarn and sew in ends.
Repeat Rounds 1-2 four more times to create a total of 5 squares.
Round 3:
• Color 3
• Lay all 5 squares right side up.
• Pull yarn into the last stitch of your 1st square, secure with a ch.
• sc halfway around the square, 24 sc.
• Take the second square, while keeping the hook in the first square, insert the hook into the last stitch of the second square and sc the squares together.
• 23 more sc around half of the second square.
Repeat Round 3 on the next 3 squares.
• ss into the first sc on the 1st square. Do NOT cut yarn.
Round 4 - Center Border:
• First square:
• With squares facing right side up, flip up the inside corner of square one (the part not crocheted across in Round 3). This will have you looking at the wrong side of that corner.
• ss into the first stitch, ch 1, dc into the same stitch.
• hdc, 9 sc.
• The next two stitches should be where your 12 dc corners from Round 2 join.
• 2 ss.
• 9 sc, hdc, dc, 3ch picot.
• Second square:
• dc, hdc, 9 sc.
• Grab the inside of square 1 that you just worked on. You will join these squares together with the next stitch.
• While keeping the hook in square 2, insert the hook into the 2nd ss from square 1, ss to join.
• Continue working only in the 2nd square.
• ss, 9 sc, hdc, dc, 3ch picot.
Repeat the steps for the second square on squares 3-5:
• dc, hdc, 9 sc, connect ss to the previous square’s 2nd ss, ss, 9 sc, hdc, dc, 3ch picot.
• On the 5th square, ss to connect in the 2nd ss of square 4 and 1st ss of square 1, putting your hook in both stitches at the same time and ss to join.
• ss to the first ss dc from square 1.
• Cut, tie off, and sew in ends.
• Shape or block your flower.
