Strawberry Granny Square Crochet Pattern

Materials:
• Worsted weight yarn in red, green, and white
• Crochet hook (size G/4.0mm)
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
• Ch: Chain
• Sl st: Slip stitch
• Sc: Single crochet
• Dc: Double crochet
Instructions:
Start with Red Yarn:
1. Magic Ring: Begin by making a magic ring.
2. Round 1:
• Ch 3 (counts as the first dc).
• 2 dc into the ring.
• Ch 2.
• 3 dc into the ring, ch 2.
• Repeat from to two more times.
• Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 to join.
• (12 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)
3. Round 2:
• Sl st into the next 2 dc and into the ch-2 space.
• Ch 3 (counts as the first dc).
• 2 dc into the same ch-2 space.
• Ch 2, 3 dc into the same ch-2 space.
• 3 dc into the next ch-2 space, ch 2, 3 dc into the same ch-2 space.
• Repeat from to two more times.
• Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 to join.
• (24 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)
4. Round 3:
• Sl st into the next 2 dc and into the ch-2 space.
• Ch 3 (counts as the first dc).
• 2 dc into the same ch-2 space.
• Ch 2, 3 dc into the same ch-2 space.
• 3 dc into the next ch-2 space, ch 2, 3 dc into the same ch-2 space.
• Repeat from to two more times.
• Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 to join.
• (36 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)
5. Fasten off Red Yarn and weave in the ends.
Switch to Green Yarn:
6. Round 4:
• Attach green yarn to any ch-2 space from Round 3.
• Ch 1, sc in the same ch-2 space.
• Sc in each dc across to the next ch-2 space, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the ch-2 space.
• Repeat from to three more times.
• Sc in each dc across to the beginning sc.
• Sl st to the first sc to join.
• (48 sc, 4 ch-2 spaces)
7. Fasten off Green Yarn and weave in the ends.
Switch to White Yarn:
8. Round 5:
• Attach white yarn to any ch-2 space from Round 4.
• Ch 1, sc in the same ch-2 space.
• Sc in each sc across to the next ch-2 space, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the ch-2 space.
• Repeat from to three more times.
• Sc in each sc across to the beginning sc.
• Sl st to the first sc to join.
• (60 sc, 4 ch-2 spaces)
9. Fasten off White Yarn and weave in the ends.
Finishing:
• Your strawberry granny square is complete!
• Repeat the pattern to make as many squares as needed. You can then join them together to create a blanket, pillow, or any other project you desire.
